Carnival Spirit - Casino question

Hello - I have seen this answered yes & no, but for anyone who has maybe been on the Spirit to Hawaii in the last year - is the casino open between Islands? I just need to know if I should do my gambling on my 5 days at sea in the beginning, or save some til the end also!!

It seems to vary by cruise line. Princess is not open but Celebrity is. I don't know about Carnival.

We were on the Carnival's Jubilee back in 1998 and the casino was open about 30 minutes after leaving the ports.

You might try posting this on the carnival website to get better responses. I was on the NCLA POH ship where there were no casino's allowed. NCLA ships cannot have casino's due to the gambling law in Hawaii so I'm not sure why other cruiselines could have casino's open.

By law, all cruise ships close their casinos in Hawaii.

Think I remember reading somewhere that the departure port (foreign or domestic) determines if the casino can be open between ports in Hawaii.

We were on the Spirit from Vancouver to Honolulu last September and the casino was open after it left each port.

By the way, we're also on the same cruise with you this year.

Thanks, jtorphy, for the info. DH won't be so happy since he thought I would have to get by with just the 5 sea days and the slot machines!! Somehow, I'll just have to make my money spread out over 12 days - perhaps being a big winner would help!! Looking forward to this cruise - have a group of 12 coming from the Greater Cincinnati area.
