MaryBethMT Posted September 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2007 I was wondering if anyone had taken a ride with West Maui Parasailing out of Kaanapali beach? We are thinking of trying it during our trip at the end of next month. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also we are docking in Kahului and renting a car to get over there. How long of a drive is it to Kaanapali beach? Thanks for all your help.
wmbjr Posted September 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2007 I cannot help you with the parasailing, but as far as how long it should take, I would say about 45 minutes to an hour. A lot depends on traffic and construction. We drove one day to Lahania and it took over an hour and it is closer than Kaanapali beach. It really will just depend. I would allow at least an hour. AZ Karaoke Girl Posted September 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2007 I used UFO parasailing in Lahaina so I can't give feedback on West Maui Parasailing. UFO was a blast but kind of hard to find. They have an umbrella set up on the beach in Lahaina so I had to make several calls trying to find them. We had a rental car and drove to Lahaina from Kahului and it took less than 1 hr but we spent time trying to find them so I would give some travel slack time just in case you should have any problems. The ride itself was about an hour. UFO took 3 couples out to go tandem so there were 3 groups of two and we flew for about 15 minutes each couple. We were on a 800' cable so it was a blast. Metal Mike was our captain.
