bayman315 Posted September 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2007 My wife and I are planning to take our two adult children on a cruise in April to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We planned on getting them their own interior room. They however may be bringing their significant others. Can anyone advise how we can get the most for our money, best deal, for the four of them without breaking the bank. Thanks Tim
Paleochick Posted September 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2007 What about two inside cabins across the hall from your balcony cabin.
wrp96 Posted September 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Since you want to go in April, try to go in the last half of April over the first two weeks. Spring breaks usually extend into the middle of April and cruise prices tend to be higher during that time. A lot of things depend on where you live and whether or not you need to fly to the port (airfare bumps up the cost of the cruise). For example, if you live in the northeast there are cruises out of the New York area that you could drive to and save money. Don't discount any cruiselines because someone says they are "always" higher. The great deals shift around between cruiselines. My first suggestion is to get quotes from a travel agent (actually several travel agents). Call travel agents in your area but look online as well. Also, look at the individual cruiseline's websites because sometimes they will have deals that are only available if you book directly with them. Also, think about length of cruise. If you are interested in a week long cruise, don't limit your search to a 7 night cruise. Look also at 6 night cruises and 8 night cruises. RetireeWannabee Posted September 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2007 While a wonderful gesture, do you have to pay for all of it yourselves? What about paying just half of each of their cabins (which equals what you were originally willing to pay)? If they want to upgrade, they can surely do that, but your contribution can remain the same.
