Carnival Transfers

What's the best way to get from Ft Lauderdale airport to the port? From what I've read so far, most CC members recommend getting to the port around 11 am, but Carnival's transfers don't begin until around noon. Would it be cheaper and faster to grab a taxi? Are there usually plenty of taxi's available?

Thanks!!

Yes, just get a taxi. Its just $12..rather than the per person charge with the Carnival transfers. Its a 2.5 mile trip. Cabs are lines up and waiting.

I'm so happy to hear that. Our flight is scheduled to land around 9:30 on the morning of the cruise, so I figured we should have no trouble getting to the port by 11 am. Would you say that's a good time? We've only been on 2 cruises thus far (both Carnival) and both times didn't arrive at the port until after 1 pm. By that time, the lines were enormous and it took over an hour and a half to actually get on the ship. I was hoping to avoid some of those crowds this time around. :)
