Embarkation:

This actually went really fast my hubby is not a US citizen and doesnt have a green card yet (we have been waiting on that for over 2 years) so we got to skip the big long lines and go to the line for non-residents which nobody was in line for. It took us about 20 minutes to get on the ship woo hoo.

The ship was exactly as I remembered it, this was my 3rd time on this ship.

We had to wait on our room to be ready for about an hour which was not bad at all because we were one of the first people on the ship so that was expected. Our luggage on the other hand was another story, we did not get it until after 6PM.

We were with another couple and were supposed to have same dinner times and table but we had different seating times and one was in Monet and the other in the Renoir. We got that fixed with no problems at all.

1st sea day

Weather not so great so I spent way too much time in the casino.

2nd sea day

Weather was much better but very hot, so once again spent way too much time in the casino. LOL

Our room steward was great and very nice. He got us anything we asked for.

Dinner was not so great, the food on this cruise was not very good. I have always really like the food in the dining room but not this time. Except for the Warm Chocolate melting cake which I ate every night.

Went to bed and woke up at 3AM and noticed we were stopped so went out on the balcony and noticed the big spot lights on the water and then saw a very small boat that looked unsafe to be in on a lake much less the ocean. It was empty when I saw it but later found out that it had 12 cuban refugees in it and it was taking on water so they were rescued and brought on to the ship where they stayed until the last night of the trip and the coast guard met up with us and took them off.

Jamaica

Well Jamaica has not changed any since the last time I was there. Our taxi driver was higher than a kite and even smoked some with us in the taxi. Then of course tried to sell us some. He was actually the best driver I have had in Jamaica (maybe you have to be high to drive there)

Its so hard to do any shopping in Jamaica because the people wont leave you alone and I get irritated with them and then just say to hell with it and go to Margaritaville. The margaritas werent as good as last time but of course that did not stop me from continuing to drink them.

Made it back to the ship and slept through dinner and then woke up and went and spent way to much time in the casino (are you starting to see a trend here LOL)

Grand Cayman

Woke up and got ready and waited for the rain to let up, we then got off the ship and grabbed a tour to Sting Ray City which I have done before and I loved it this time even more than the last. After the sting rays we went snorkeling and got to see some eels, they were really big and a little scary but we had a blast.

Cozumel

Went to paradise Beach, hubby went parasailing (not sure on the spelling) he loved it but was a little scared, I was a little scared for him. We left the beach and the couple that was with us wanted to go to Carlos and Charlies to JUST LOOK and get a t-shirt. Well 2 giant margaritas and 30 shots later I had to be brought back to the ship on one of those bicycles. I somehow made it to the room where I got sick and passed out and stayed until the next morning.

Last Sea Day

Spent most of the day recovering from Cozumel, the Casino seemed to be a good place for me to recover LOL.

All in all it was a wonderful trip. My only complaint is the dining room food.

All the staff was great, never had a problem with any of them

Oh Yeah I almost forgot, my hubby was in the hairy chest competition which was really funny because he is really shy. There was another guy in it that kept doing the splits he would just drop to the floor into the splits, he did it probably 20 times and his shorts ripped and his wiener was hanging out and he didnt know it. OMG it was too funny.

We did self assist to get off the ship.......That was a nightmare at first because they had us all meet in the the Lounge which is not a good place to have luggage but once off the ship the lines through customs went pretty fast.:D

We did not smoke it with him he smoked it while we were in the taxi LOL

I read that and realized I made it sound like we smoked it with him.

K4C, thanks for the great review and for the clarification. It did leave room for misinterpretation.

Say, did you by chance notice the number of people that could be seated at the largest tables in the dining room? We have 9 in our group and requested the late (8:00) seating, which I understand is in the Monet Dining Room.

Thanks!

The big round tables had at least 9 people at them, they are huge. We had 8PM seating in the Monet.

I think I danced with your husband at Carlos and Charlies. LOL

We were there, too. Fun huh? LOL

I have to concur a little on the food. It wasn't all that a lot have made it out to be, but the Beef Wellington was awesome. The Chateaubriand was awful. No one at our table finished it.

It was a great experience for my first cruise. I was getting a little stir crazy by the 3rd sea day - very happy to get off in Jamaica. We did Sandals, and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. While in GC, our tour driver (with a private excursion company) told us that Jamaica had just had a big changing of the guard politically two weeks before, and he hoped that this would mean a big change for Jamaica. He said that the previous people in power didn't care anything about tourism. Hopefully things will get better there. Jamaica is poor, but it didn't look like I envisioned it. I have seen much worse shanty towns in Texas.

Luckily for us, we got off on one of the first tenders in Grand Cayman, which I was really surpised by. They had the people who didn't have a ship excursion planned get a number for tenders, and we were still off by around 8 am. We waited out the storm and I had the time of my life. Even got to see Hell and the outside of the Turtle Farm for free while we drove around waiting for the storm to pass. AND the Carlos and Charlies in GC sucks. LOL The food is awful and the service is bad too. We should eaten somewhere else.

Coz was great - we went to Chankanaab, and after snorkeling in GC, it was a little disappointing because it wasn't as pretty there, but the beach and water was gorgeous, and it was still worth the price. We decided to go to Carlos and Charlies before shopping, and man was that a mistake. LOL The only thing I got in Coz was a refrigerator magnet. LOL Oh, well. It was an absolute BLAST. My husband and I really needed that, because the night life on the ship sucked if you weren't in the casino.

We did well in the casino. Almost $400 to put on the Sail and Sign.

Room steward and dining staff was great. I didn't have any problems with the staff anywhere. We did have some people we met that have a special needs child who was told by their PVP that Camp Carnival would watch their child for them, but when they got there they refused. They were not happy about that. I don't know how that worked out.

I heard that the mid ship pool leaked into some rooms underneath. THAT must have sucked. I heard 2 inches of water in the rooms, but who knows if it really was that much. I never got to see anything with the Cubans even though I went out to see what was up the night they were picked up. I woke up because the ship wasn't moving (well, it was rocking, but differently, you know? At a stand still.)

I was on Deck 2 pretty forward, so I felt motion all the time, 24-7. It was fine, because I didn't get sea sick, but my equilibrium is ALL messed up right now. LOL My body still thinks it's on the ship. No one mentioned that the rooms squeak too, with the movement, but I am a lite sleeper, so maybe most people don't hear that. LOL

I had a great time. My husband got some art. We smuggled alcohol but still spent plenty on Carnival drinks. I put two bottles of wine in our carry on to embark, and they searched it, but nothing ever came up about the rum, vodka and peach schnapps in the checked luggage. It was fine and I would do it again. We came home with all the bottles, so we didn't really drink that much at all. Coconut rum and the guava juice is the BOMB, but the fruit punch mixes really well with it, too. LOL

My husband won a sports trivia game by changing two of his answers for mine, so I was proud of that. LOL

I would recommend the Conquest for anyone. It's a beautiful ship with great staff and a really nice itenerary.

OMG I was laughing so hard at him because he doesnt normally dance and after a few shots and a few margaritas he was all about some dancing.

I was drug out there a couple times and I DO NOT DANCE. I am flat footed and just can not dance and after all those shots ( we left their with over around 60 shot glasses and I had about 30 of them myself) I wasnt able to walk much less dance LOL.:D
