delmonte man Posted September 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2007 We are cruising 11/19-11/26 on Enchantment Of the Seas. WE had a good HOME flight but, that was changed by the airline till 4p.m. What do we do. Can we depart from the ship later? I really dont want to stay in the airport all day!! kitty9 Posted September 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2007 You will most likely have to be off the ship by at least 9:30 to 10. They won't allow you to stay on longer. Could you rent a car and see the sites? You might be able to take the ship sponsored tour offered to those who have late flights.
crusinmama06 Posted September 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Where is the flight out of? You can't stay on the ship, but some hotels have day passes for cruise passengers that have a later flight. Also, you could use the cruiseline's "Baggage Valet Service" and take an excursion with RCCL. Your bags will head to the airport, you can go on the excursion and RCCL will drop you off at the airport.
travelingirl70 Posted September 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2007 You might also consider calling the airline to see if there is another flight available. I've had luck with Delta and United in the past waiving any change fees when they changed the schedule by more than a couple of hours. I've just told them the new times weren't going to work for whatever reason and got them changed. On our flight to Orlando for our cruise on the Disney Magic a couple of years ago, we had a Friday night flight at 6pm connecting through Atlanta that got us in around 11:30 pm or so. They moved our first flight up to 4pm, which wouldn't work unless I pulled the kids out of school early. I called and Delta switched me to a non-stop to Orlando leaving at 7 and arriving before my original flight was supposed to at NO CHARGE! I can't promise that will always happen, but you never know. We were thrilled because the non-stop flight cost twice as much as the connecting flights through Atlanta! If that doesn't work, try Cruisinmama's advice. That would be a great option.
