We were given two cabin numbers when we reserved our two rooms (via Hotwire) for Carnival Glory 12/18/04. Is there any possibility of receiving an upgrade.....or should we call back and ask for a guarantee instead? Thanks for any advice.

It is more likely to get an upgrade when you book a guarantee... most of the time when you book a specific cabin, that is the cabin you get. You should be within your cancellation/grace period.... you could try to change it. But just know that most upgrades are deck to deck (inside to inside on a higher deck, oceanview to oceanview, etc...), those are the most common ones...

If you already have assigned cabins, your upgrade chances are very slim. Not zero but very slim. That said, the overwhelming majority of upgrades are upgrades in name only. Sure some get moved from inside to OV or Bal. and some from Bal to Suite. But those are RARE and the ship has to have a low occupancy rate for that sailing. Most times a "upgrade" is from an A to a B, C,or D in the same category. In other words, same cabin, different deck. Same perqs.

We just got upgraded to a "C" and now our cabin is below the dining room instead of below a deck of cabins. Wow! some upgrade. But we will love our cruise anyway.
