scottlyn Posted September 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2007 We are trying to decide which day sail the four of us should do. Please help!!!!! If you have ever been on a day sail out of St. Thomas, we would LOVE your input!:) Rumbaba is full for the day that we are at dock :(, but all of the day sails look great! Narrowing down is the hard part.
augie Posted September 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2007 When I tried to book with Rumbaba and they were full they said I should contact Captain Pat at Ike Witt Charters. We had a great daysail with him!
Texarribean Chick Posted September 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2007 We went with Jester in June of this year and absolutely loved Capt. Jim. We were two couples and Jim was very accomodating! If you choose him, make sure and tell him Chuck and Crystal from Texas said "hello". Good Luck. C. crcossel Posted September 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2007 We did the most awesome daysail with http://sailwinifred.com/ WONDERFUL! Had the best rum punch ever and the snorkling was great. We saw an eel and 2 sea turtles (they move fast underwater!) I have some great pictures....
eadavis Posted September 21, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2007 I just posted an earlier response but I can definitely highly recommend Jester. Captain Jim is great-I can't think of a better way to spend time in St. Thomas-or anywhere for that matter really.
alkbud Posted October 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2007 We sailed on the Ike Witt last Wednesday (September 26th) and had the time of our lives. We sailed directly next to Rumbaba, and I think the best part about Capt Pat of the Ike Witt is that he did a guided snorkel tour. He took us all over and by him being there, we were able to see so much more. He showed us more than we could ever have seen by ourselves. Not to mention, the food was great and the rum punch was as incredible as it was plentiful. :) I absoutely recommend him and I can't wait to sail with him again! Miss Vickie Posted October 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2007 We sailed High Pockets with Capt Kathleen 2 January's ago, and enjoyed it so much we're booked back with her this coming January.
Sharon2U Posted October 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2007 We also sailed High Pockets and had a wonderful time. We've recommended to friends who have also raved about their day with Kathleen and crew. :)
idjaffe Posted October 2, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2007 I have posted many times before about our bad day sail on the Winifred. It was the worst excursion we have been on in years. We have heard good things about a lot of the other boats, and would recommend taking your hard earned money to any one of them. Ira
linda scott Posted October 2, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2007 We sailed with Captain Mike and his daughter on Island Girl, back in April. We had a great time sailing out to Buck Island. Where we saw sea turtles and many different types of sea life. We used their sea scooters that were a blast! I would highly recommend them, we are going to book them again this coming year. figmentdj Posted October 2, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2007 Sailed with Capt Jim and the Jester. Also with Capt Pat on the Lou. Both were great. My nod would go to the Jester. So laid back. Good Jester juice and food.

Isn't Buck Island off of St. Croix? Or is there another one near St. Thomas as well?
augie Posted October 3, 2007 #13 Share Posted October 3, 2007 Just did a search and discovered that there indeed is another Buck Island, this one a short sail fro the CA harbor. You learn something every day...
SandySeas Posted October 5, 2007 #14 Share Posted October 5, 2007 We too are interested in sailing with Island Girl, but don't want a day sail that just snorkles. We want a day sail company that takes you to a beach also. On their website they don't advertise beach time as most of the others do. Is there beach time? The main reason we are looking at them is because no cab ride. My husband is worried we'll miss the ship, the time is too close

We sailed on her last April and even though the weather did not cooperate early in the day we had great snorkeling, great food, great crew and an overall great sail!
