RAIN?!? Noooooo!

Going on my first cruise this weekend to Ensenada. But it might rain!

Will it kill our "good time"?

any ideas on what to do while it's raining?

I'm new to this board, but this is how I look at a cruise (vacation). I work so hard and so many long hours that when I leave my home for that break, it's nearly impossible not to enjoy it. I can't imagine not having a good time on a cruise ship. The food, bars, and casino are covered, right?!:D :D :D

As sailinglisa said, "only if you let it"

On one of my many trips to Ensenada we just walked to town in the rain and shopped. It was a lot of fun. I know some of the people on this board would probably melt in the rain:D but it shouldn't stop you from having a great time. You can go to walmart and get a pancho for less than 2:oo in the sporting good section. Just take a light jacket because it is supposed to be chilly this weekend also. Have a great time.

Your food is included in the cruise price, but the bars and casino are at your expense. Also, the excursions and specialty resturant is extra. Pictures, tipping (unless you pre pay) are not included, so a cruise is really not all inclusive.

You won't have a problem. It's not like Ensenada is known for it's great beaches:D Take an umbrella just in case and do some shopping, bar hopping or have lunch at Taqueria Mexico Lindo which is my favorite little taco place:D

I think BigBoat meant "covered" as in "a roof over your head so you won't get rained on", not "covered" as in "included in the cruise fare. :)

Rain? Is rain going to ruin something that you have been looking forward to for months? Is rain going to ruin the cruise with great food, great drinks, great shows and some fantastic ports? You do not know for certain that it is going to rain, much less rain 24/7. My DH and I went to Hawaii and it rained in one our ;ports, did it ruin my entire trip, of course not. You make the cruise what you want, you make it fun and you do not let anyone or a little thing like rain, make you think it is going to ruin your cruise.

As Timmys_mom said, I believe that they meant covered as in sheltered. Don't let a little rain bother you, just another part of the adventure.

Rain is one reason why I'm hesitant to book any vacation other than a cruise. We went on a 4 day several years ago on the Conquest to Cozumel and it was rainy and cold almost the whole time. We were on the go nonstop trying to do all the indoor activities onboard and we found out how much we really enjoyed cruising, rain or shine. Had we been at a resort, the vacation might have been ruined, but you'll never have to worry about it on a cruise. We never even had to step outside unless we wanted to. Thank goodness the rain held off during our time in Coz.

The ship IS the vacation. The ports are just added bonuses!

p.s. My sister has been on two recent cruises where it rained the whole time on both of them and she is still a 100% fan of cruising.

We did this exact cruise years ago for our first cruise. One day it rained but we were so busy inside the ship we didn't even notice until we decided to cut across an outside deck to go somewhere. Enjoy it:)

I always get off the ship with my suit on and an umbrella and reenact the scene from Singing in the Rain, with Gene Kelly.:D

If it does rain most times it is a 15 minute shower.

Rain? Give me rain....it's the damn Hurricane's that worry me.....Although, everyone has reassured me that they rarely cancel a cruise....they just move the ship around on the safer waters and that means a cruise to "who knows where?" How fun is that?

Unless, of course, you've planned some exotic day parasailing in Mazatlan or jetskying in Puerto Vallarta, then you'd be majorally bummed!:(

And, to everyone who has a dog as their avitar......Hoorah for you!!!!!!
