AnneBonney Posted September 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2007 We just booked adjacent verandah cabins (VC) on the Westerdam. I was just looking at the pictures of some of the steel railing cabins on another thread and it showed the barrier between cabins -- it looks like there is a hinge there. I know I had seen a thread about the suites having barriers between balconies being able to be folded back -- is this true in verandah cabins as well (would love to be able to send the kiddies to Grandma and Grandpa without going out into the hall). Thanks.
grannynurse Posted September 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2007 You may ask your cabin steward to open the partitions between the cabins. We are not supposed to, read "can't" open them for ourselves. Sometimes when they remain open in high winds they will cause an awful racket. sirdavid Posted September 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2007 No Problem....Your steward can open them for you. We had three cabins on the Westerdam and they opened up to a long balcony. We were in VE. David
LadyFurn Posted September 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2007 On our Noordam cruise when we were in Ketchikan I was sitting on my verandah and that side hinge opened and a crew member came through! They were varnishing the railings and he had to go through my cabin to get back inside! That was quite a shock...I thought for a minute that those guys with the rubber suction-cup feet really did exist!:p
