Yosemitegal Posted September 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Has anyone taken the Heartland Cruise with Amadeus from Paris to Prague?
clint and sue Posted September 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2007 We took the cruise on the Symphony in July, 2005 with a few friends and everyone loved it. We went to Prague 2 days early (stayed in same Marriott) as we were filming the trip-tending to cover LOTS more area than the city tours show. On our own we went to an evening concert (within walking distance of the Marriott) at Smetana Hall (and filmed from the balcony) which was wonderful (dress is casual). Bus trip to board ship was interesting with very informative/knowledgeable guide, luxury bus & stops. Cruise stops-especially on Mosel, were delightful! Cochem and the castle a highlight and Trier fascinating (our itinerary didn't include Heidelberg/Mainz/Frankfurt but had been there previously filming). Our trip was during the Wine Festivals in most of the cities, so lots of celebrating. Both the food & the regional on-board entertainment were excellent. Paris-during Bastille Day-ahhh. Thouht the crowds would overwhelm but NO problems. Even the Louvre had no long line. We took our own side trip on the Metro (clean and efficient) to their most famous cemetery, Pere Lachaise, where "everyone" is burried (they have maps to find the many famous occupants). Any Qs-clintandsue@yahoo.com Hope you enjoy the trip as much as we did!
