memecakes Posted September 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2007 I have a question for those of you the have been on the Triumph before. DH and I are flying into Fll airport the day before our cruise. We have a reservation at the Ramada Inn near the airport. (because we get in late Friday night) What is the best way to get to the Triumph the next day? Carnival transfers? Taxi? What? how much does a taxi cost compared to the transfers and how long is the ride to the ship? Thanks!

Transfers thru Carnival run $30 pp each way for the approx. 30 minute trip to the Miami Cruiseport. There are some private transfer companies that offer a cheaper shuttle rate but have no service return trip. Taxi was considerable higher but cant remember exact amount. Rental cars will run about $45 to $55 per day unless you go a "name your price" site and then can be secured for around $35. They opted for the CCl Transfers for convenience. TIMELMAN Posted September 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2007 I would say take a taxi it was only 15 dallors from airport to port. Just cruised out of there on zuiderdam last oct. transfer were 29 per person x 4.
JoeSmooga Posted September 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2007 If you are staying near the MIA airport I would say take a cab. I am assuming you are staying near the FLL airport, in which case I would suggest getting a rental car. Cab will run you $60-$70 from the FLL airport area to Port of Miami. If you shop a bit and take advantage of discounts, you can pick up a rental car from Alamo (free shuttle from MIA Airport drop-off to Port of Miami) or Avis (drop the car in downtown Miami and take a $5 cab ride to the port) for around $40 after taxes. Since you are coming in the night before, I suppose you could take the hotel shuttle back to the FLL airport and catch the CCL transfer bus. As previous posters said, it something like $29-$30 pp. Lots of options... just whatever you feel most comfortable in doing. Joe
