cruislovin Posted September 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2007 qixo.com is another good one. Just realize that most of the search engine websites do not include airlines like Southwest and some other discount airlines. I always search those websites independently. GMoney Posted September 29, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Try farecompare.com.
amybear912 Posted September 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2007 also try farecast.com they monitor airfare trends and "predict" the best time to purchase. I take a look at this and then purchase directly through the airline. I usually get the best deal when I cut out the middleman.
johnlcruise Posted September 29, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2007 To me this is the best site. They compare ALL airlines. http://www.kayak.com/
gill_boo Posted September 29, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Kayak is great but be aware it doesn't show you all of your options.
GMoney Posted September 29, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Kayak is great but be aware it doesn't show you all of your options. I agree; or it shows you things that aren't really available. It's still a great site, but you just have to be thorough.

Host Kewlguy Posted September 29, 2007 #17 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Another good one is Best Travel Store. http://www.bt-store.com/
emdia43 Posted September 29, 2007 #18 Share Posted September 29, 2007 The BEST is http://www.cheaptickets.com Also at times I like airgorilla.com For International flights there is a new one called Vayama.com that looks promising.
Cruise Gopher Posted September 29, 2007 #19 Share Posted September 29, 2007 http://www.cheaptickets.com charges you a booking fee. Not worth it IMO. http://www.kayak.com is the best because it finds the cheapest prices and then you book directly on the airline's website and avoid the booking fees. txwildflower2002 Posted September 30, 2007 #20 Share Posted September 30, 2007 This info has helped me as well! I have never booked a flight! We are flying to San juan in Dec 08. There is a non stop from houston. Any tips about booking or airport do's and don'ts would be appreciated! Upon arriving in SJU, so we have to go through any screening process? There is a non stop from houston. Any tips about booking or airport do's and don'ts would be appreciated! Upon arriving in SJU, so we have to go through any screening process? Definitely try to get a non-stop flight as there is less likelihood that your luggage won't make it. SJU is part of the US so you don't have to go through customs or anything. Definitely go in at least the day before, not only will you be safe for any delays but you get to see a beautiful island.

ck93 Posted September 30, 2007 Author #23 Share Posted September 30, 2007 I can't find any flights with Southwest out of the US. Do they not go outside of the states?
MattInFLL Posted October 1, 2007 #24 Share Posted October 1, 2007 Southwest does not fly internationally. No matter which web site you use, there are two things to remember: 1 - Southwest, Jet Blue and other discounters do not generally show up at the comparison sites and never at the big travel web sites. You have to check these on your own. 2 - after you have found the lowest price at one of the comparison web sites, go directly to the airline's own site and see if you can find it there. It is always best to book direct with the airline. There are no additional booking fees, and if you have changes or problems, you can deal directly with the airline. More than once I booked through Orbitz and went through h*ll trying to fix something because I could not deal directly with the airline.
