We did a 14 night cruise once and it was my 3 children and 2 kids from Europe who never went to the kids' program. My girls who were 13 and 15 had a great time with the youth staff. Some of the staff friends also joined them at the coffee bar where they got free cappucinos and the like most nights.

My son who was about 10 was joined by a captain's kid. Their daily schedule included lots of video games, movies, and board games. Basically when we dropped him off, the 2 girls asked him what he wanted to do.

We have always homeschooled and are able to take advantage of cruising at slow periods with great prices. Many others do the same.

If we went to Disney or a week at the beach, our kids would not be with a lot of other kids, so meeting peers on a cruise is a plus, but it will be fun even if there are not a lot of kids.

Your children will most likely have a great time whether there are lots of kids or few kids.
