ISABELLA Posted October 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2007 During our November cruise we will visiting Naples and since we have been to Capri, we would like to see Sorrento and Pompeii. Wa are planning to take ferry ( weather permitting)to Sorrento and then take the train to Pompeii and then back to Naples. Does any one have information on ferry and train scheduling and price on tickets. Also, do they accept credit card for ticket purchasing? All you help is greatly appreciated. sweep Posted October 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2007 It is very easy to catch the hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento. You just come out of the port and turn to your left and you will see the ticket office. They speak English or will find someone who can. There are ferries or hydrofoils to lots of places, the times are prominently displayed and it is really straightforward. Have a great time. 29pearls Posted October 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2007 I will also be in Naples port in November, and I haven't been able to determine if there are ferries running at all to Sorrento at that time. Does anyone know? At least one company stops the Naples-Sorrento ferries at the end of October, but I understand there are other companies operating. It's no biggie, since we'll just take the train instead, but I'd love to have the option of train or ferry.
