Has anyone used Marriott points to cruise?

I heard that some cruise lines have arrangements to trade for points, like the Marriott Vacation Club points. I must remember to call them and ask about this, but, I just wondered if any of you have experience with using points for a cruise?

I would also love to hear from folks who have done this, also have Hilton reward point... I need to use some points!

We used Hilton Honors Points to cruise last September on the Ecstasy. Points paid for an ocean view room (6A). I think that it included the port fees and taxes, or maybe just the port fees. We had to add tips. We also purchased 4A across the hall for the 4 kiddies. It's not a great value to use the points, as it takes so many, but it was really the only way we would ever afford to take all 6 of us on a cruise.

 

I just checked the rewards recently - it seems that they have limited the dates available this year. Last year, there were no limits listed on the website - now, you have to pick from their list of weeks. Doesn't seem to be as flexible as it used to be.

We used my husband's Marriott points to cruise on the Conquest in October 2005...they paid for an oceanview cabin, which we eventually upgraded to an aft balcony.

we dont have a Mariott card but we do have an HHonors Hilton card...we dont go out of our way to collect points but we will likely save them up and use them for a cruise when the time comes...we still just recently got it...I think we have 35000 points...we need 250000 to cruise...so a very long ways to go

We used a little under 1,000,000 Marriott Rewards points in 2012 to cruise on Celebrity around New Zealand and Australia a few years ago and to stay for a week in Sydney. We also used some cash to upgrade our cabin to a balcony. We thought that they were a great use of points.
