Pan Pacific Hotel

Recommended Posts

Stayed at the Pan in Aug, we took what was about a 10 min walk to Gas Town which has numerous restaurants. No problems to report and were pleasantly surprised how clean the shopping district was, don't miss the steam clock go off on the hour.

Miss Honey, agree with BK. An easy walk to Gastown. Be aware that you'll probably pass a few panhandlers/beggars, but from what we saw, they won't approach or accost people. They either have a sign asking for money, or they'll ask people as they pass by.

You can walk ten minutes in any direction from the Pan Pacific and find excellent restaurants. I would not recommend going to Gastown if you are looking for sushi. Anything up Granville Street or on Robson (West of Granville) would be better. Lots of other great food in Gastown though, from moderate to expensive, whatever floats your boat!

We stayed at the Westin Bayshore when we were in Vancouver before. Loved the hotel and Loved the view. The most comfortable beds we have ever had. The Pan Pacific looks nice, dropping the lugguge really looks great. The package through Princess is $60 more for the 2 of us. Didn't know if there was much difference. Carol

I have stayed at the Pan Pacific several times and really liked it. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and the closeness to the port can not be beat. It is downstairs. It is also in walking distance to Gas Town, shopping and restaurants. We ate at Joe Fortes Seafood on our last trip and had great halibut.:)

It's a short walk to Gastown or, if you head up and away from the water, to the central area of the city. (Robson St is the main shopping area). Just don't walk PAST Gastown, that's where you'll find the hardcore street people. (It's a great city, but they all have 'those areas'.)
