Arranged transfer from airport to hotel.

Recommended Posts

ptater, for most hotels in venice, a cab or limo can't get to it from the airport, as there are no wheeled vehicles in the main part of venice. Canals and pedestrian streets only. If you have a hotel on a canal, or near one, you can take a water taxi, which can be arranged at a booth in the airport. The airport is not large. A water taxi is like a stretch limo. Six people and luggage is no problem. There are porters (expensive) to take your luggage the seven-minute walk from the airport to the water taxi, or you walk pulling your own luggage. A water taxi might cost 90-100 euros. No tip necessary, or a small tip. If you are staying in a major hotel, contact the hotel for transfer suggestions. A few hotels have their own water taxis. Jm, what hotel did you use and do you know if any moderately priced hotels have their own water taxis? We are going next September and I need to make arrangements for a pre cruise hotel that is easy to reach from the airport.

Puli, I have seen a water taxi with a Hilton logo...We stayed twice in Foscari Palace Hotel, which has it's own dock. 23 rooms. You can email them for advice, which was "all the water taxis know where we are." I wouldn't assume the big hotels provide free services. Foscari Palace is a restored palazzo, very modern. Good location. Your taxi pulls up at the dock and the bellman is waiting. Check reviews at Tripadvisor.com to see if it suits. Not cheap, depending on dates and room choice, probably more than $300. Murano glass and other goods around here about 20% cheaper than Rialto Bridge area.
