ktpc2005 Posted October 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Hello, We are taking the NCL Taormina and Mount Etna shore excursion 2 weeks from tomorrow on our NCL Gem cruise. The excurison takes you to the Cratere Silvestri, 6000 ft up. The shore excursion page says that it is chilly, which I understand, but how cold is it actually. I just want to be prepared, but I am not planning on bringing winter jackets all the way to Europe. Thanks.
zeitgeist Posted October 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2007 usually a sweater will be sufficient. Most of the time you will be in the heated bus. On the summit it may become cold, especially if there are clouds and fog. It is just a high mountain. Wear three or four layers of clothing. If it is sunny on the summit you may feel comfortable in a T-shirt, but when a cloud comes it gets chilly.
