jack300s Posted October 10, 2007 #29 Share Posted October 10, 2007 If a helmut of beer is $22.00, how much is a bottle or can of beer? The following are some of the prices on the Spirit between 9/16 and 9/22. AG means Autogratuity. Hope this helps everyone...... Bottle of Corona/Sapparo/Heineken/16oz Bud: $4.50 + AG $.68 = $5.18 Bottle of Coors/Bud 12oz: $3.95 + Autogratuity $.59 = $4.54 Bucket of Bud Alum 16oz (6 beers): $22.50 + Autogratuity $3.38 = $25.88 Glass of Alderbrook Wine: $7.00 + AG $1.05 = $8.05 Glas of Berringer White Zin: $5.25 + AG $.78 = $6.03 Bottle of Valley of the Moon Sarah: $27.00 + AG $4.08 = $31.08 Pina Colada/Long Island Iced Tea: $5.50 + AG $.82 = $6.32 Basic Coctails: $5.50 + AG $.82 = $6.32 One can Diet Coke: $1.75 + AG $.26 = $2.
want2cruiseagain Posted October 10, 2007 #30 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Tell all your friends you are celebrating something special like anniversary or birthday. Then they might send you a bottle of bubbly or wine as an onboard gift. We had the anniversary package free from our T/A and friends sent us some champagne. That helps with the bar bill. paintednails1 Posted October 10, 2007 #31 Share Posted October 10, 2007 They stock the bar in the room. All we do is tip for the drinks comped by the casino. Of course, this doesn't take into account what we lose at the crap table. Oh... I have a tip... my fiancee is a constant ice tea drinker. To save me always running to a cafe for refills, I pack a large thermal mug. At the end of the cruise I toss it to make way in the suitcase for souveniers. pathubia Posted October 10, 2007 #32 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Last year was the worst bill, $3000 for 5 of us, 3 drinkers, 2 teens.... This year was $2700 for 6 of us, 4 drinkers, 2 teens....That included $300 spent in the duty free shops and a $250 cruise rewards certificate..... I did order a bar set up for my husband for the cabin, but since I never know what I will be drinking I hate to get a bottle and then not want it. Hubby always likes crown royal, so its a good idea for a bar set up for him.

Toothfairy754 Posted October 11, 2007 #34 Share Posted October 11, 2007 My sister and I ran up a bar bill of about 100.00 a day. That included the drinks of the day and a bottle of wine with dinner each night. We also snuck on Grey Goose in water bottles and ordered double OJ in the morning so we could have a drink when we returned to the ship on Port days.

retiredonthesea Posted October 11, 2007 #36 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Last cruise in March on Pearl was $358.00, but that didn't include bar set-up which was over $400.00. Just the two of us---we like to entertain and have friends come for drinks in our suite.

cruisebum50 Posted October 12, 2007 #38 Share Posted October 12, 2007 What would it have been if you could smoke anywhere? It used to be $500-600 on a 7 day cruise. It would be nice if there was one bar that smokers could go to without it being in the casino. The casino wouldn't be so smoky if there was somewhere else to drink and smoke. I never said I wanted to smoke anywhere, just in a bar not in the casino. We spent most of our last cruise in our suite. We were after final payment when NCL changed the rules so we couldn't cancel. I imagine other cruise lines will follow but until then we will go on the lines where there is at least one bar (not in the casino) that we can drink and smoke in. I even got nasty looks from cigar smokers when I stepped into the Cigar Bar (not a real bar, just a room to smoke in) to smoke a cigarette after dinner at La Bistro. I agree.. there should be a bar just for smokers. BUT smoking should not be allowed in the casino so us non-smokers can us the casino. I never go near it simply due to the smoke. OR there could be a separate smoking casino.
cruisebum50 Posted October 16, 2007 #41 Share Posted October 16, 2007 We gave up smoking and drinking in the casino too because non-smokers would walk over and sit down (while we were smoking) and then proceed to wave their hands in the air and fake cough. Why sit next to someone who is smoking and then get dramatic? I finally gave up and went upstairs. I smoke only where it is allowed and yet that isn't good enough for some. Hockey19 Posted October 17, 2007 #44 Share Posted October 17, 2007 If you are serious about your wines- buy them local. Bring them on board- declare them and pay $15 a bottle to the liquor ****s and you will not worry about dinner wine bills. That practice alone saves a fortune and gets you wines you choose rather than ship choices.
messengertm Posted October 17, 2007 #45 Share Posted October 17, 2007 I was just doing some figuring...let me know if I am wrong..or wayyyyy off at least. $6000 divided by 2 people divided by 9 days divided by average $7.00 per drink equals: about 47.6 drinks per day and figuring if you stay up for even 18 hours a day equals 2.6 drinks per hour while conscious..... That is alot of drinking ! ! Braver than I am. Thanks, MessengerTM:)
