Star Mex Riviera Cruise GV

Superduty

Recommended Posts

Got back yesterday from the 8 day Mex Riviera cruise. Anyhow we had a fabulous time. Our trip was out of the ordinary - more like a lifestyle of the rich and famous, than your typical cruise. But I thought I would share it anyways. I feel very fortunate to be able to cruise this way.

We had a group of 14 people. We were in the Garden Villa and Owner Suites (2d villa was taken when we booked). This is our second cruise, the first being on the Jewel in April where we were in OS. Anyhow, the service on the Star FAR surpassed the service on the Jewel. There was no comparison. I don't know if the fact we were in the GV was what made the difference, but you would think the OS on the Jewel would have garnered similar service. Don't get me wrong the service was great on the Jewel, this was just on a different level.

Some kudos are deserving:

Butler - Roel was amazing. Was there in a flash whenever we needed anything. Decorated the GV for a birthday party.

Steward - Roberto was amazing. Was there in a flash whenever we needed anything. He made the towel animals for the kids all the time.

Concierge - Simone was amazing. Made all the reservations we needed - and our reservations were not easy as they were for 12 people each time (kids normally ate before us and then went to the kids club). Got us off the boat in minutes at all ports. And numerous other perks that I can't mention.

Resturaunt Mgr. - Carlos was amazing. Greeted us at every meal. For most meals he stayed to make sure all went smooth.

Head Chef - cant remember his name was great. Came out to speak to us at every meal and made sure the food was to our liking. Baked a fabulous chocolate cake for our GV birthday party.

Cruise Dir. - Ricky was great. Great sense of humor. Attended the birthday party in the GV and was great fun.

Casino staff - a pleasure to deal with and very fun.

I would not expect the average person or group to receive this type of service. About 6 of the people in this group are HIGH rollers. Probably some of the biggest gamblers NCL has ever seen, with one of the persons very likely the biggest NCL has ever seen. Gotta love casino comps.

I will try and post some pictures when I have a chance. Not sure when I will get around to it?????
