Sandytoes Posted August 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Taxi rate $9.00 p/p from dock. Taxis are always there to take you back to the pier. We entered near the blue-white lounge chairs. Cost $20.00 for ocean view -- 2 lounges/table/umbrella. Behind $16.00... (worth the extra $4.00) Cons ~ ~ Not good for snorkeling, to many beach vendors. Pros ~ ~ Stunning beach. Clean. Water has a slight wave to it... (Which we love) If you walk down to your right pass the rocks, that is where the nude beachcomers are.... (The beach in this area wasn't as nice - in my eyes) But it's worth a visit just to walk this spectacular beach.
kal Posted August 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Cost $20.00 for ocean view -- 2 lounges/table/umbrella. Behind $16.00... (worth the extra $4.00) There are many places where you get this: * 2 lounges * table * umbrella * 2 rum punches (or beer) * Front row (closest to water) $7 per person => $14 total. Share a cab to Orient with a total of 4 passengers and the price is $6/person.
everyotheryear Posted August 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2004 I haven't been there for a few years. I have read some threads that said there are alot more vendors. Was that a problem? Did they constantly bother you? Just want to be prepared. Thanks!
Sandytoes Posted September 3, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2004 Everyotheryear -- there were beach vendors. It wasn't that overwhelming, but it did get to be annoying when we wanted to rest/quiet time.... When told No, Thank you" the sales people would go on their way. Reduit Beach now that was extremely busy... Constantly being asked.....etc.... Wished we had a sign stuck in the sand saying, "no, thank you"......since we got tired repeating it..... gtaylor Posted September 4, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Generally agree with kal, but our guy, Mitch, at Pedro's, adjacent to Club Orient, doesn't offer tables.
Sandytoes Posted September 5, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted September 5, 2004 Right of the Orient Kakao beach, look for the orange umbrellas / lounges. Near more resturants / bars, beach front shops saw a sign $5.00 lounge, umbrella, & 1 beer. Not a bad price... It looked like the type of area for the younger crowd... The blue area where I parked, seemed to be for the more layed-back type. Very quiet.
beachchick Posted September 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 7, 2004 True, Mitch at Pedro's doesn't offer tables, but it's made up for by the fact that the stretch of beach is so beautiful and not too "busy" or wild with partying. There were some vendors, but they weren't constant or pestering. beachchick
