snorkeling in cayman

going to cayman, in december, wanna do a snorkeling day. but not go thru the ship ,wanna go on my own. what beach is best for snorkeling?

I would have to say Rum Point. The water is about waist deep for about 100 feet out and crystal clear. The water at Seven Mile Beach was not clear. I was in to about my waist and I couldn't see my feet.

We snorkeled at Eden Rock (lots of fish--all right there very easy to find) and at the wreck of cali (in front of HammerHeads resturant). If you read the sticky you can get lots of info about places to snorkel. BTW it is completely free if you bring your own gear.

Don't forget Stingray City and the snorkelling there. It is fantastic to be snorkelling and viewing such remarkable creatures so close at hand.

 

You will find numerous locals in George Town offering tours to Stingray City, when you get off the ship.
