Grand Bahama Island Excursions

Has anyone ever been there? What is there to do? Sailing Norwegian Jewel on 11/15 but they have no excurstions listed.

 

Also - If I want to snorkel, am I better off doing it in Nassau or GBI?

I too am on that sailing and am curious as to why no shore excursions are listed yet through NCL. I did find in researching Grand Bahama Island myself that most of the postings on this board refer to Freeport or Lucaya or Port Lucaya which are on the island. From what I've read so far, the cruise ship terminal here is pretty industrial, so hanging out in that area is not recommended. I understand that some sort of taxi or shuttle service is readily available, though not free, for transportation to other parts of the island. We plan to head to the Isle of Capri Casino for my father to be entertained, and if the weather is nice, we will head to the resort beaches in that same area. As I understand it, there is no charge for beach use and many stands are there selling the usual beach activities.
