shopping in cozumel

Hi everyone:

Where are the best places to shop in Cozumel? My 11 year old daughter would like to get earrings for her 4 teachers for Christmas and I told her I would ask where would be the best place or places... We leave Thursday and we can't wait....

There are lots of places to shop in Cozumel. My favorite is Los Cinco Soles. You can find almost anything in their store and their prices are reasonable. Be sure to look at their sale section.

Is there any shopping within walking distance of the pier? Not sure if there's more than one pier but I'll be on RCCL Norwegian docking in Cozumel 12/1.

Before Wilma there was a lot of shopping around the pier. I haven't been back to Cozumel since then but, I will be back there in January. Taxis to town are very inexpensive ($4-$5 for up to 4 people) and you can find almost anything you want in town. It's a pretty town built right along the water. Be sure to attend the 'shopping talk' onboard ship. They will give you lots of information. Of course, you do not have to shop their recommended stores. Lots of the store owners will bargain - Los Cinco Soles does not. Some of the store owners are quite pushy.

If you dock at Punta Langosta, you walk off the ship into an open air mall, and then can walk down the main street where there are tons of shops. Even if you dock at the other end, its only a short cab ride into town. Some of the store vendors are pushy, but a quick no thanks and they leave you alone. Although sometimes its to your advantage 'cause they want to make a sale. :)
