Cape Breton Coal Mine

We will be sailing on Constellation this fall. In Sydney (Nova Scotia), we will do the Cape Breton Coal Mine tour. Has anyone done this before? Do you have any suggestions (e.g. clothing, temperature, how dirty :) ).

I did the coal mine tour several years ago - never again - very claustrophobic down there when the horizontal shaft gets smaller and smaller. (Think of Charles Bronson's claustrophobia attack when in the tunnel of that great flick "The Great Escape".)
