KT32 Posted October 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2007 One of my colleagues really enjoyed a place called Cal Pep which is near the old train station.
John&Betty Posted October 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2007 Hi, Hotel Continental Barcelona or Hotel Continental Palaceta? Either way try Los Caraceles (The Snails) 2 blocks north of La Rambla on Escudellers. It's the 2nd oldest restaurant in Spain established in 1835 and is still going strong. Make reservations or plan on waiting in the bar for awhile. John

DeniceRG Posted October 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Just got back from Barcelona, and we ate at 7 Portes .... it was great!! We stayed at the Regencia Colon, which was wonderfully located, near the Gothic Church/area, Las Ramblas ... everything within walking distance. jlooneyb Posted October 27, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Hey Peter! You are the same person I asked about the Palau de Musica on trip advisor Forum. You also had great reviews and trip report of Barcelona. I did finally get tickets to the guitar concert with Manuel GOnzalez, but still not through their web site. I never got it to work. If you ever wanted to pop in on our roll call, I'm sorry I don't know how to link it, but, it is the Nov 10th Voyageur of the Seas Roll Call. We'd love to pick your brain over there! goldenprincess53 Posted October 28, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 28, 2007 We stayed at the Hotel Continental as well in October 2006. We made reservations online for the 4GATS restaurant which is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel in teh Barri Gothic Quarter. It is not the easiest place to find but it would be in the area behind your hotel. We recommended this place to friends who just returned last week and they too enjoyed the food and ambience. Get an early reservation - 7 pm as it will be packed by 8 pm and make sure you get a table in the dining area, not in the front section which is more pub like. You can view the menu an dining area online as well. It was known as the place where Picasso hung his hat and the decor centres around that theme. Very interesting place - highly recommend it. http://www.4gats.com/web.html
