marciemi Posted September 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Anyone from the area have an idea of how much it would cost for a cab from Newark to the port in Bayonne? Family of 5 - with a bunch of stuff would we all fit in one cab anyways? RCCL transfers are $50 per person round trip which seems a bit steep to me - $250 total. Could we get 2 cabs in each direction (or one crowded one) for less than that? Thanks for any help!
travellady Posted September 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2004 We got a cab at Newark airport to bayonne for 4 of us this summer for just about 40.00 - cab costs out of Newark are tightly controlled. I gave the driver 50.00 has he had a lot of luggage to deal with and was super nice. Also, the cab we got was a van and could have fit 5 - we waited at the Taxi queue at Newark and waited for a van - let others jump ahead of us in line until a van showed up. Even if you need 2 cabs, cabs are much cheaper than the RCCL transfer price you mention.
marciemi Posted September 1, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Thanks so much - we're still (9 days out) debating between driving (from MI) and flying. Air is down to $136 as of this morning so comparing costs of driving (hotel, gas, parking) vs. flying & transfers. Obviously flying would still be more, but it would sure be easier! Marialivia Posted September 1, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Almost time to sail! According to the the article about Cape Liberty Cruise Port which I got through Cruisenewsdaily.com, cab fare from Newark Airport is $35. Must have gone up to $40, according to previous poster, so probably within that range. Good luck! Hope to see you on VOS! ML :D
