anngie Posted September 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Holland America (5 p.m.) -- Holland America is the second cruise line to report in with changes in anticipation of the Category Four Frances' approach to the Bahamas. Its Zuiderdam, sailing seven night roundtrips from Ft. Lauderdale (and now in St. Thomas where a cruise line spokesman says it's "enjoying a sunny day") will forego Friday's scheduled call at Nassau and spend an extra day at sea. Zuiderdam is the only Holland America ship that is impacted thus far. The company says in a statement that, at this point, it expects to go ahead with Saturday's Zuiderdam departure from Ft. Lauderdale as expected. However, passengers booked on the Zuiderdam's September 4 sailing can receive updates by calling 888-624-5788.

jstducky Posted September 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2004 i wonder if they are still going to be able to continue as normal though on saturday, unless they think that the storm will have passed by then... royal caribbean has already announced that 2 of its ships set to return to florida on friday are both being brought back to port one day earlier and their cruises will end tomorrow morning... they have yet to announce what will happen to the folks set to sail off on friday. should be interesting to see how the zuiderdam's next cruises is ultimately affected.
