Castaway Cay

MISSSNOOPYGIRL

people like all these private islands that the cruise ships stop at. guess it just feels so 'private' and the hammocks and chairs on your own beach where you can just relax....they serve a bbq meal which is cool. There's probably snorkeling and other things u have to pay for.....

it is very pretty and very quiet.

There is an adults only beach , a teen only beach, a family beach, a special play area for younger kids where they have counselors to run activies. you can check the kids in and out as you please. That is free.

There is a wonderful BBQ lunch served, also included in your cruise.

You eat at picnic tables under a big roof area and there isa small area by the adult beach for adults only to eat too under colorful umbrellas.

Grouper game room is filled with pool tables, basketball hoops, shuffleboard, a giant connect 4 game, checkers, chess and more all for free.

The Flying Dutchamn ships is anchored in the harbor there to see. You cant go on it but it is cool to see and you can have your photo taken with Captain Jack with that ship behind you in the photo.

There are character meets along the way to the beach area.

There is a post office to mail post card

one large gift shop full of disney stuff and farther down the path are a couple small stores for things sold by locals

There is a

place to get your hair braided too, yes it costs extra.

You can rent bikes and ride down an old runway and along 2 long bike paths, one has a view of the ocean at the end, the other has an observation tower to go up and see the island, great view.

disney has takena lot of time and care to make the decor fantastic, you have to see to appreciate it all.

on the family beach you can rent many things at reasonable rates.

They have an area with a safety net to keep out the large dangerous fish for swimming and snorkeling. they have some surprizes under the water for snorkelers.

You can rent snall sail boat, water trikes, paddle boats, large swim tubes, and there is a large water play area out alittle ways to play on.

You can go deep sea fishing, do a glass bottom boat excursion, go parasailing, do abanana boat ride, drive ski do for an eco excursion and much more.

Teens also have their own excursion there where they snorkel, bike, hike and kayak and have lunch together.

volleyball is free too.

The ship is just a short walk from the family area so it is easy to go back and forth if you want to.

It truly is a beautiful island and you will love it if you go and see it.

If you go to DCL's website you can order a free DVD and watch it. They have some pictures of island on it.

ditto to what everything mom4x said. Also Disney actually docks there, you do not have tender into the island.

Also the water is very calm, because Disney spent extra money to build in reefs, to block the waves.

It is a very relaxing fun day. We booked a cruise for next year that stops at CC twice.
