denisey Posted September 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2004 My husband and I booked our first Princess cruise yesterday. We are going on the Sapphire Princess from Vancouver to San Francisco on Sept 20th. This is the quickest we have ever taken a cruise! We usually book about a year out, but we couldn't resist! Well, last night, when I was registering on the Princess site I notices that my husband's first name was spelled wrong. Now normally I would have called the TA this morning to handle this, but she is in Florida and has been evacuated. If the cruise was later, I would have waited until next week. So I called Princess and explained that I knew this normally needed to come from the TA. The Customer Service rep confirmed I needed to talk to the TA, but put me on hold to see what she could do for me. A few minutes later, she came back on the line with my problem solved! I normally don't ask someone to break the rules, and I understand why they are in place. But it was really nice to talk to someone who understood the problem and fixed it rather than passing the buck! Now all I have to do is wait the 2 1/2 weeks for my cruise! srphnx Posted September 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2004 Generally the only things that absolutlely can't be done without the TA have to do with the economics of the cruise. A price adjustment or question about the cost of an upgrade etc. I have had any number of small accomodations handled.
Sandy R Posted September 3, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2004 I, too, have a positive Princess experience... we just arrived home from our 8/21 Alaska cruise and thanks to our TA Kim and the fact that we booked this cruise with a "future cruise" voucher, we had enough shipboard credit so we didn't spend one cent extra. The last day before we disembarked, we heard my husband's name called over the loudspeaker. We went to the Pursar's Deck to inquire and were told we had a $6.25 credit due. With that, they handed us the money and wished us a safe flight. Definite kudos to Princess!! Sandy
