Sandy R Posted October 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2007 My Island Princess "Panama Canal" 19 day cruise photos are now up and running. It was a fantastic cruise, perfect weather and great ports. BillB48 Posted October 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2007 I too enjoyed the Canal pictures but all the pictures were great. Looked like a great cruise. I wonder if you could answer a question that came up on one of the threads on the Panama Canal Board. Where in Gatun Lake did your ship turn around to head back to the Pacific Locks? From your pictures it looks like you may have turned around some distance after passing Gamboa. Thanks
Sandy R Posted October 31, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 31, 2007 Bill... we did the 19 day Panama Canal on Island Princess. We started into the Canal from the Pacific side and turned around in Gatun Lake and headed back to the Pacific all in one day. What was terrific is we got a whole day in Panama City... a modern city with an old colonial area that was a total photo-op. Sandy
BillB48 Posted November 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2007 Being able to spend the whole day seeing the sights in Panama City certainly is a plus over the partial transits that originate in Florida. Having to spend a large part of the short time you have in port driving from Colon to Panama City and then back, cuts out so much of the time you have available. Looks like you had a very comprehesive tour of the City.
