I am trying to reserve with this company but they asked me to fax a copy of my Passport along with the front and back of my credit card. I am very anxious about doing that. Does anyone have any experience with them and does this sound strange. I offered to send them a check but they did not send their address - just asked for the credit card again.

I did not take any excursions in Costa Rica so I can't help you with this specific tour operator. However, I have booked many private tours and for those rare companies that want a deposit or a guarantee with a credit card, the number was good enough.

 

I would recommend against sending a copy of the back of your credit card to anyone, as they then have your signature and the security code. I would also not send anyone a copy of my passport.

 

In my opinion, I would not book with this tour operator.
