lornaeic Posted November 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2007 9th cruise coming up but this is first with Costa - rates seem fantastic and a little curious about X1 (what exactly does it mean?) seem to be differing reports - also what currency for sure is used on Caribbean sailings for Costa? Thanks in advance,
Cruise4Andy Posted November 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2007 On Caribbean sailings the official on-board currency is US$, while the Euro is the official on-board currency on Mediterranean and European cruises. You final statement will be in US$ on Caribbean cruises. There are a ton of X1 threads here where you can read all about the details. The X1 is a drink package for unlimited drinks (beer, wine, water, soda,) during MEAL times, which does not include drinks at the lounges or theatre, or any time other than meal times. The X1 package MUST be purchsed and paid in full PRIOR to your cruise and can ONLY be purchased through your TA or Costa directly. You can NOT buy the package online or on board. Just browse the forum for more info... Andy

Just make sure you book it at least 14 days before. They do not sell this on the ship
