ntsurf Posted November 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2007 Planning a day pass at the Wyndham Fortuna while in Freeport. We are a group of 13. Anyone have any suggestions or advice on transportation to the hotel? We were given a tour company by the hotel to call. They want 22/person just to go there and back. That seems steep to us, averaging 88 dollars per family just for transporation. Is this usual for Freeport? Our cruise leaves 11/17, any help appreciated. Snorkel2Much Posted November 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2007 I don't have any kind thoughts for the Grand Bahama Taxi Union, so if the tour company you mentioned is taking their lead from them.... good luck with that. You should be able to all pile into the van/taxi's that run from the pier for around $5 per person each way to Lucaya Beach. Trying to go anywhere else on the island is a furball, post-emesis.
MartyinGA Posted November 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2007 Stay in a large group(s). Taxis wait to fill before they leave, so you get a better chance of going as a larger group. Take the cabs from the port. Much cheaper. Do not pay for the return trip until the return trip, just in case. The taxi situation in Freeport is awful.
