Grandpaul Posted November 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2007 I think you will like the Spirit. Nice ship. One night I would have dinner in Le Bistro. I wouldn't miss the show Quest. I would spend some time during the days at sea in the observatory in the Galaxy of the Stars on Deck 12 reading or whatever. Very relaxing. Sometimes there are functions going on there like bingo etc but you can plan it around those. There are many types of music played in the various lounges and I usually find at least one I like and enjoy that every night, listening or dancing, for a little while. They have a nice casino on board if that interests you. If you have a balcony you can have dinner on it one night at least.
jp2001 Posted November 6, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2007 In Galaxy of the Stars, there is a stairway beside the small dance floor, go check that out. Hoop Troop, I will be very grateful if you could post the dailies on CC. JP
electricron Posted November 6, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2007 Don't miss the art in the stairways and passageways. The Spirit is loaded with Asian art. My suggestion is to ride the elevators all the way up, and walk all the way back down. That alone should consume a few hours of an at sea day. I know a lot of people will really appreciate that (myself included:p ) I'm going in April and would like to try Cagney's one night (it's an 8 night cruise) I'll be curious to see if the first night menus are the same as the Dawn and the Crown. Toyz711 Posted November 6, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2007 ok, just for everyone on CC...i will drive DH nuts (again) and gather every piece of paper, scan it and post it. going to take my notebook (going to pack it right now) for a travel journal. i'm not buying interent minutes, even though i am packing my laptop, i won't be able to post on the ship..but since i live on the board (between housework) thing will get done as soon as i get back. i should warn you, i seem to only see the good. teacher2cruiser Posted November 6, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted November 6, 2007 I will enjoy reading your "positive" comments. Be sure and let us know your favorite dining room entrees and desserts. I'd also like to know quiet places to go to read and relax (besides my cabin)! We loved the solarium on Grandeur.

teacher2cruiser Posted November 6, 2007 Author #14 Share Posted November 6, 2007 Is there an ocean view from the library? I'd love somewhere I could sit and look outside while just laying back and relaxing (maybe with a drink)!
Toyz711 Posted November 6, 2007 #15 Share Posted November 6, 2007 i assume, like the other ships i have been on, that all the rooms up on that deck..they usually have a great view, with very few people, according to NCL.com: The Library Located on Deck 12; accommodates 14. You'll find a well-stocked selection of things to read with all the elegant trimmings a good library deserves including a stellar view. DH likes the open air, plus the view, there are going to be times i won't be able to move him off the balcony...unless it's to go to the casino. i will be at the pool...thank you very much:D

Cathi, Seeing the good is the best way to enjoy life. We could pick things apart non stop and then we would be miserable. It's wonderful to see people with a great attitude!!! You're going to have a fantastic cruise! :D Teacher, One thing you should definitely not miss is the boat! ;) Don't miss the quiet moments looking out into the ocean and waiting for those flying fish. I get so excited when I see them and take way too many pictures of something that you can barely see. :o I usually get up very early, go grab a cup of coffee since it's before the time they bring it to the room and type on my laptop by the pool. It's so peaceful and quiet, and the world is yours for the moment. I've never been on the Spirit, but I'm sure you'll find a lot of fun things to do. Enjoy! tomk3212 Posted November 6, 2007 #17 Share Posted November 6, 2007 We loved the Spirit. Try to get to Le Bistro, the french restaurant and order the escargo and the creme brulle for dessert. Also go to the shows at night. They were great. The art show was fun too. The library was very cozy to read in. Enjoy!!!!! THe pool was nice and warm and it was great on days when everyone left the boat on exursions.

Yes - there are ocean views. There are these cozy nooks in the library where you can sit, read, look out the window, read some more...you get the picture.
