enchantingqueen Posted November 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2007 Hi all, I've enjoyed reading your posts, they have been so helpful and informative. I will going to Hawaii in January and will be visiting the Seven Sacred Pools, so my questions are: How deep are the pools and are they warm in January?? I'm asking because I cannot swim and I would like to know if treking down to them is even worth it. Thanks for your help! Sofia

Sofia Hi, Sofia, and welcome to the Hawaii boards! :) The pools at Ohe'o Gulch (actually there are more than seven, and they weren't sacred, but you are right, that is their common name/misnomer) -- anyway -- they were COLD even in July (to me -- and I'm hot-natured both by disposition and by virtue of my 'time of life'). The water in them is freshwater from the Hana rainforest. They aren't very deep, though (at least the two bottom-most ones we checked out). However... the rocks around them ARE slippery. They aren't kidding when the signs warn about that. I went swimming there before I intended to, which SO thought was hilarious... me, not so much! ;)
