JimnTerrie Posted November 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2007 We are going to go back to back on the Jewel on Nov. 15th and 18th. Will they make us leave the ship and go through coustoms or can we just swap cabins? Thanks,
Ms belp Posted November 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2007 I love the Jewel! Congratulations on your b2b. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question about having to get off the ship or not. I noticed that no one had responded to your posting. Perhaps you should resubmit with question mark icon instead of the way it's posted now. It doesn't appear that you are asking a question so alot of people probably pass up your posting. You could title the posting "Must we get off the ship for a B2B?", something like that. Good luck and have a great cruise! If you look for "O'Neil" at the outside bar on the back of the ship (Great Outdoors?), he will treat you great! Tell him Barbara and Chris from Dallas say hi. FreeStyleNCL Posted November 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2007 I hope you are going to different ports if ur going back on the same ship lol I sailed on the Jewel and absolutely loved it! whats the cruise directors name on Jewel? calmac Posted November 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2007 What port are you asking about - that could make a difference. We did a B2B2B with turnarounds at Dover and Barcelona - didn't have to get off at either.
1kycat Posted November 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2007 It’s been reported both ways…but the majority have not had to debark. I don’t think I recall anyone having to go through customs…but some have had to go back to the terminal to a holding room for a short time. Others have just had to go down and pick up thier new key card...and have stayed on the ship. The fact that your changing cabins complicates things a little…as they will want you out of your cabin (at what? 10am? maybe 11 since you arrive at 8) and your new cabin will not be ready for a couple of hours. In the end, unfortunately, I don’t think that you will get a definitive answer here.
Latino81 Posted November 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2007 I was on the jewel last yr B2b and they walked us off the ship into a secure area and then back on. It wasn't that long maybe 15 min. then they walked us back on to ship. I am also doing B2B on the Jewel again Dec 2. As well we will be doing B2B on POH in Jan. For us Canuck's it's a way of averaging down our costs for 2 weeks when our flights are so expensive. Plus u move up the Latitude's ladder quicker.lol

Thanks, On the Pearl last week in Miami we gathered in Lotus about 10am and then were escorted thru customs with passports in hand and waited a few minutes and then reboarded. Painless. If you want to go into Miami, leave any time before 10am and return in time to sail. They also had an excursion to the everglades for the B2Bers. You left your luggage in the room, right? Did you get a letter in your room explaining the process?
JimnTerrie Posted November 10, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted November 10, 2007 Thanks for the replies and posting tips. We are leaving out of Miami first on a 3 night to Bahamas then swap cabins for a 5 day to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. This is our 3rd and 4th cruise, so we are no experts yet. Carnival Legend /Thanksgiving '05 to Panama, Costa Rica, Belize Crown Princess/ Sept '07 to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and Bermuda
1kycat Posted November 10, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 10, 2007 Just an FYI. I just read the Dailies from one of the recent Pearl sailings...and on one day (half-way through) it stated that if you were on the next cruise...you needed to register at the reception desk and bring your cruise tickets with you. I'm sure that then they would tell you how it will work.
Latino81 Posted November 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 11, 2007 Well, that must be the latest. You left your luggage in the room, right? Did you get a letter in your room explaining the process? I think that if u have the same cabin for both weeks that makes the difference. Because we didn't have to remove luggage nor did we have to settle our room bill at the end of the 1 st week.
