Royal Palms & Rum Cakes

Is Royal Palms near the Rum Cake factory? We want to eat at their restaurant, but would also like to get some rum cake and see them made.

 

If they're not close, any idea on the cost of a cab?

Royal Palms is not close to the Rum Cake Factory.

 

The local regulatory authority just approved an increase in metered cab fares. I'm not sure what the new fare would run.

When we went to Royal Palms last month. Loved it. When we were done the taxi dropped us off near the cruise dock. Right near the dock we found Blackbeard Rum Cakes. They are great and local and rated even better than Turtuga. Now, we couldn't watch them being made but there were free samples of about 6 kinds. We bought the chocolate.

We went to the factory before and I do not remember being able to see much of the process. It was just an opportunity to taste and buy. I agree with above about Blackbeards. It is just as good (if not better) and much cheaper
