pinkaboo Posted November 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Really thinking about cruising to Belize and Cozumel in around mid-december and was just wondering what is the weather like around that time of year? Taking two young adults who want to go swimming in Cozumel but was wondering if it would be toooooo cold to comfortably swim around mid december or the end of december? They're use to warm weather and warm waters and had some concerns about cruising in December.
Ella2 Posted November 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2007 It's plenty warm to swim...usually in the 80s in December. No worries. :)

TexasAlexus Posted November 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2007 We have taken several winter cruises to Cozumel, and the weather was beautiful and we were able to swim. Enjoy your cruise.
BethCarp Posted November 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2007 I just got back from Cozumel. It was about 80 and windy. If you were wet and out of the water it was COLD!! In the water was somewhat tolerable. Took some getting used to though.
wrp96 Posted November 15, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2007 On my mid December cruise, Cozumel was the ONLy place that we got warm weather. It was overcast and rainy but at least it was warm. Definitely warm enough to swim.
HookedOnCruisin'2 Posted November 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2007 We've been there in January and April. The weather was perfect both times and the water warm. The water was a bit choppy at Chankanaab Parque in January but that could have been a fluke. It was still warm.

pinkaboo Posted November 15, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Thanks all, that info is very helpful. My vote is to go in mid december. I will communicate this info to my youngsters, I'm sure they will be happy to hear that Cozumel and Belize is just fine for swimming around mid december or the end of december. WinterEscape Posted November 16, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 16, 2007 As you can see by reading my signature below, that is the only time of year that I cruised. My in laws went on several in the summer months in the caribbean and said was too hot. We have never had a problem with it being too cold to swim.
