Midnight Rain Posted November 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2007 We have always done the transfer and air with Princess (and they have taken care of the luggage etc.) On our next cruise we have decided to book our own air etc. so we will have our own transportation to the ship. When we get to the pier, where do we take our luggage? Thanks! :)
GloriaF Posted November 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Which port? The procedure is similar, but not all alike. I am most familiar with FLL. Once you thru the security gate, there is a board with ships and piers on it. Follow directions to the pier for your ship drive thru the covered area in front of the terminal. There will be baggage handlers there to take your luggage and put it in big bins for transfer to the ship. A small tip is a good idea, even though there are signs at FLL that state the baggage handlers are employees of Princess and tipping is not necessary. Then proceed to the parking garage. It will be obvious to you where to go/what to do when you are there. For other ports, someone else will need to help - we have cruised out of a couple of others, but I don't recall the details. Please do not forget to give them a tip as they do not work for the cruise line. Hint Hint.
Midnight Rain Posted November 15, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Oh sorry I should have mentioned that... We are leaving from FLL. Thank you for the replies!
GloriaF Posted November 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2007 We always tip the porters, but there are definitely signs posted on some of the posts in the baggage area that state they do work for the cruise line. I did not take a photo of this sign, though, so have no proof unless someone else has seen it as well.
