I've heard that Ybor turns a little rough in the evenings. Should I be concerned?

I'm from Tampa. Ybor is a VERY big party area at night. It's nothing but rows and rows of clubs. If you're planning on just staying in the hotel then you'll be fine but if you want to venture out at night be careful. It's a fun crowd but a drunk party crowd at that. Try looking for hotels near channelside if you can find any. That's where the cruise port is.
