Most important a good pair of walking shoes. Norma-who is working on Alaska, 2006, my 4th time.
akchic Posted September 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2004 Yes - layers are great. It could be 80 degrees and sunny or 50 degrees and raining. Be prepared. I'd even recommend bringing a warm knit hat. June should be a great month to go. Not as much rain as other times of year. Don't forget the sunscreen! Enjoy! suzybruner Posted September 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2004 We sailed the Spirit first week of June in 2003. I would take a wind suit for wearing out on deck in College Fjord. It was very cold in Juneau (low 40's in the morning), and raining. Layers really helped, with a waterproof outer layer. Don't forget a bungee cord if you have a balcony, so you can prop the door open - if it is warm enough. Suzy
