Krooze Family Posted September 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2004 Sorry if I'm not supposed to be posting this here because it is hurricane related, but I can't find any information on whether or not it was damaged. I can see that the Glory is returning today to MIAMI, however, it doesn't say that it is also departing from MIAMI anywhere. Since it is supposed to be at Port Canaveral, I'm wondering about the damaged done. Tried the Webcam, but I'm sure that blew away! :(
lunyma Posted September 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2004 I believe that Port Canaveral is only open to freight traffic, as there was some damage. Cruise ships that normally sail in and out of there will probably be going in to, and out of Miami. Bus transportation to and from the ports will be provided for those that need it. Check the cruiseline website or your travel agent for more up to date info.

aqusis Posted September 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2004 There is some information on Port Canaveral's website. They only have partial power and are closed until at least Wed Sept 8 so that coast guard can check for submerged debris, make sure that marker bouys have not been moved and to check the depth which may have been altered by silt deposits. There is no mention of any damage but currently no traffic of any type (cruise, freight, etc) is being permitted into Pt. Canaveral.
sierra2913 Posted September 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2004 Glory is leaving today out of Miami and then returning to Port Canaveral. For those booked on it they are giving them free shuttle transportation down to Miamai and say not to drive down there. I was seriusly considering booking this trip at the last minute, what a deal they were going to give. $10 for the cruise and then $180 for taxes. I figured there would be such a mess to get there it just was not worth it. But boy am I wishing I was on my way now instead of sitting here at work!
