Bucket of beer?

Going on Caribbean Princess at the first of the year, wondering does anyone know the price of a beer or do they sell buckets at what price. I know they sell them on Carnival ships.

Usually its about 3.50 or so for a can of beer. If you buy a bucket of 5, the sixth is free.

They definately sell "buckets of beer," as I was rarely without one, which might be part of the reason that I can't remember how much they were.

Just got off the emerald this morning, believe it was 5 cans (bud) for price of 4 at $18 Pre-auto tip of 15%. So add another $2.70. 12oz were $17, so if you like bud you get more for your $$

should have mentioned that the buds are 16oz aluminum bottles, dos equis are 12 oz.

Glad to hear that they have buckets. We like to sit out of the way on deck, so the waiters don't come around as often.

Are the bottles already open when they bring them to you in the bucket? Wondering if you take a couple back to the room and have them later? And if you can, I guess that means we need to take a bottle opener - right?

Let's hope the bottles are twist off caps like there here in Canada. Hope they have Coor's Light on Caribbean Princess. Does anyone know what brand's of beer they do have? Can's or bottle:)

:cool: I have this thing we call a cozy it`s to keep your beer from getting warm..what I do is attach a bottle opener to it and when ordering a BUCKET OF BEER I tell them not to open any..that way I can open them at my own lesiure and they don`t go flat..you would be surprised how handy this comes in when you are on the pool in the sun..(or to keep beer from spilling):D

Just off the Diamond...Bud in the Aluminum bottle was 5.18 each with tip.

if you want to keep your beer cool in the sun use a bubbakeg mug, i used it in dom rep, my hubby said it was great, he didnt have to gulp his lager down before it got warm or if he forgot it for a few minutes

Just back off the Crown. Bucket of beer - 5 for the price of 4 (used to be 6 for 5). Good deal, but like it's been said, get the Bud (16oz alluminum bottles). No twist-offs like in Canada, so take an opener. I would get a bucket, have them open 2 for the pool, then take the rest back to the room. Or just get a bucket for the room.

We were on the CB in October.

 

DH always bought those buckets of Bud while we sat by the pool. The waitstaff was great about offering to open another bottle as needed when they would walk past. They also fetched more ice for the bucket on warm days.

 

Funny thing, though, he never had any bottles LEFT to take back to the room. Chug...chug...chug... :p :D

Nice to hear there are alot of beer drinkers out there on cruises. Do you think that is the number one drink on a cruise ship if not what is? THEFOG

god yeah beer is so kool it the drink of drink for cruising , so informal.

Pity though they don't have better beers than Bud or Coors they are so tasteless , hope they got Becks or Stella something that a least tastes like beer

Bucket of 5 dos equis was 19.55 on our cruise earlier this month. They do only seem to sell them on the pool bars as when I tried to get on in a few other bars in the ship, they were not available. Whatever we did not drink, we just put in the fridge in the room. If we wanted one opened on deck, we just ask one of the staff and it was not problem

Now there is a brand I know!

Can't help with the price but in cans for sure.

Guess $3.75 + tax + automatic tip.

Brought my own for cabin usage.;)

I pre-ordered beer packages for our 11/16/07 emerald. They come 6 for 5, and room service delivers with an opener. Can't remember the exact price, but even tipping the delivery person, not bad. Slow, and had trouble getting thru to room service, but all worked out. On the other princess ships, I just gave the coupons to the room steward and they took care of filling the refrigerator. Not this time. At the bars, they are 5 for 4, go figure. No buckets in the casino, as they were always out. We started to bring our own.
