Babs1121 Posted November 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2007 We will be docking at Crown Bay next week..This is a first for us because we always docked at Havensight..Is there anything at the pier or do we have to take transportation to everything? gizmo Posted November 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2007 There is very little at Crown Bay. Take the safari type taxies to Charlotte Amalie for shopping.
Vic The Parrot Posted November 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2007 QM2 docked at Crown Bay 3 weeks ago, and there are shops open now. (More than what was available a year ago .... ) Duty free liquor store An over-abundance of jewelry shops (in the majority, sadly :rolleyes) A few gift/souvenier shops A store that has swimming/diving gear Gifts and other trinkets sold from stalls under the canopy Not much like Havensight, and downtown, but it's getting there. Enjoy!
Winchester Posted November 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2007 Take a tour from ship or grab a cab to beach or downtown. While the ship is emptying they will fill the open air vans (with tops) to several destinations. If you have no plans, I like to go over to Havensight then take the gondolla up the hill. There is a NICE view of the island, drinks, some food, and a little shopping. Gondolla is not cheap these days, but is fun ride on a day out. Something like $16 for round trip. I think taxi will take you to the top if you like and you could ride back down for 1/2 price. I can sit there an hour watching the view go by. By the time you are done there, you could get your shopping done, if needed at Havensight. The main rush should be ending and you will have lees of a crowd to deal with. richkinkade Posted November 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Another thing to do is to walk to the marina just past the shops and take the ferry to Water Island. It will take you to the beach the locals go to. Very nice.
