martyap Posted November 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2007 Thinking about booking an AerLingus flight to Rome for October 2008 but the fare is on the high side for the date I need........Is a site like Kayak or Best Travel an option? What are the cons about using consolidators to book air? I know the AerLingus tickets are non-refundable but changes are possible for a fee. The BestTravel seems to have a $200 penalty + $100 fee to cancel.....I'm assuming with AerLingus they will do everything to get you to your destination....do you get the same level of service with tickets bought via Kayak or BT? Any advice would really be appreciated..........Karen
Fblack Posted November 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2007 One way fares are often very expensive compared to a round trip fare. Ask your TA, but if round trip is cheaper, then just forget the return leg.
TinaLee Posted November 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2007 Are you looking at one way as in you're doing a transatlantic repositioning cruise, or one way as in you're sailing out of Rome and into another port, like Barcelona or Venice? If the latter is the case, you don't want one way, you want open jaw.
gilew Posted November 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Hello: I am doing one way air from Rome back to the States. I found the fare using Hal's air to be good!
