princessdiablo Posted November 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Hey all - I'm looking to find out if there is a non-cruiseline cat that goes out for "snorkeling." Really I just want to ride on the boat and drink, but snorkeling is fine too. I've done this every time through the cruiseline and had a BLAST...I'm just wondering if there is a cheaper way to do it. I'd be fine doing this in Roatan as well (we are going to go kayaking or horseback riding at one place and sail on a catamaran at the other place.) Recommendations? Thanks! april f Posted November 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2007 We booked a private catamaran through shoretrips.com. It's yours for 3 hours and I wish we could have had it all day! Cost was $580 and included fresh fruit, guacamole, pico de gallo (sp?) chips and beer, juices, water. There were 9 of us (5 kids 10-15). It's your choice on what you want to do. We snorkeled at two spots, but if you just want to sail around you can do that too. All equipment is included and the firstmate gets in the water with you and has food to give the fish. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Rare shark&minnow Posted December 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2007 We booked on our own through Fury Catamarans. They picked us up at the dock, we went and did some light snorkeling then they started serving beer and margaritas. We went to a private beach(there were other cruise people there) There were free drinks there also along with beach volleyball, hammocks etc.

How was the snorkeling? Sounds like you didn't spend too much time doing that...

Scooter-n-GB Posted December 16, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2007 IMO, you cannot beat Fury Cats for a good introduction to snorkeling, and a heck of a party! That's how my DW and I got started on the whole snorkeling thing. Fun, fun, FUN! Oh, and the cervezas and margaritas are a nice touch too. :D
