How many is too many? The real question is do you need all that you packed? The problem is storing all the suitcases once you board the ship. There isn't a lot of room in the cabins to store the suitcases.

 

Yes you can drop off your suitcases and then board later. Depending on how long you are going to be gone, don't over pack we made that mistake on our Med Cruise. Way too much stuff, too much to lug and haul all over the place. If it's more than a week, use the laundry service on the ship, they're fast and reliable.
