We're not big on shore excursions...

I'll actually be posting this same message on various port boards, because the question is consistent.

We're not in love with organized shore excursions. Our preference is to walk through town, look at interesting sights, shop a little, stop for a light lunch and make our way back to the ship by mid-afternoon so we can have some ice cream and a nap before dinner.

Any recommendations for walking tours, maps, sights and/or shops and/or cafes that are musts, and, of course, places to avoid...?

As always, your responses are eagerly anticipated!

For years we have gone out on our own, and have a wonderful time! Years ago Carbo San Lucus was ruined by a ship tour. Since then we have been on our own and love it.

I have been going into various web sites looking for things to do and how to do them.

This time I have found some small local walking tours, etc. We end up in some of the best places!
